Learning Spaces

Our Learning Environments

The Outdoor environment is a large, natural and challenging space where children can explore and engage in the many experiences available to them. The program is based around developing the children’s physical and gross motor skills, social skills as well as providing opportunities to be in quiet spaces for reading, being creative, completing puzzles and just to observe the world around them. Our beautiful playground adjoins Allington Reserve and is safely set back from Kalang road. We also have a wheelchair accessible ramp and toilet in the playground.

The Indoor environment has a set routine of the day so children are able to predict what will happen next. At Elanora Heights Community Preschool we believe that the curriculum evolves organically from the interests and needs expressed by the children and therefore educators are able to work spontaneously to cater for individual children. All of our learning environments are developed from observations of both individual and groups of children and discussed at regular staff meetings to cater for any changes.
